Overview
Christine in Seattle had an outdated jetted tub that was becoming more and more difficult to step over. Like many Washington homeowners Christine opted for a tub to shower conversion, which removes the old tub and replaces it with a beautiful, functional and most importantly, safe walk-in shower. After getting multiple bids from a variety of bath companies and contractors Christine chose Oasis Bath Solutions to complete her project.
What it was like before:
The biggest issues with the old tub for this client were the safety concerns:
- The tub was high and hard to step over
- The bottom was slippery and required a bathmat
- And there were no grab bars anywhere to offer support getting in and out of the tub.
What it was like after:
- Gone was the old tub, and a low step up shower base was installed with an anti-slip surface. The most beautiful thing about this shower base was that it matched the beautiful Calcutta Gold Sentrel walls that she chose.
- A sturdy, teak folding seat was added with an angled grab bar just in front to make getting up and down easy. To get into and out of the shower the seat could be folded up so it was no longer in the way, and a vertical grab bar was added on the other end to help with stepping in and out of the pan.
A Closer look inside:
- The valve and handle that turn the water on and off were moved up to be easier to access.
- Two color-matched corner shelves were added for storage, and a luxurious Oasis shower system from Pulse Shower Spas was installed with a fixed shower head at the top and a convenient hand shower fitted on the side.
- The Sentrel walls go all the way to the ceiling, this provides full waterproofing for the enclosure, and makes cleaning a breeze as the whole shower can just be wiped down.
