Overview
Many homes have large, outdated tubs that never get used, are dangerously hard to step over and take up large amounts of space in a bathroom. For these reasons many Washington homeowners like this one in Olympia opted to have their tub removed and the area turned into a large walk-in shower.
These are not easy jobs for contractors though, as the tubs are often not identical to standard shower pan sizes, meaning a custom shower base is required and not all remodelers are willing to take on those projects. Thankfully, here at Oasis, we have the ability to construct a shower base of any size, any shape and any drain location, meaning we can handle virtually any tub or shower situation! That ability leads to amazing results like these:
(Tub before and Shower After)
A Closer look inside:
- The valve and handle that turn the water on and off were moved into the wall and raised up to be easier to reach.
- A shower spa was installed with a super modern Matte Black finish, rain shower head and handheld shower.
- The Sentrel walls go all the way to the ceiling and even wrap the walls; this provides full waterproofing for the enclosure, and makes cleaning a breeze.
- A solid shower bench was installed in the back with an angled grab bar just in front.
End Result - A fully custom-made shower:
- Custom Shower Pan: Because of the unique shape of the space, a factory built pan was not an option. The shower base in the photo was 100% custom built on site including the threshold. The pan perfectly matches the Sentrel Frost colored walls and has an anti-slip surface.
- Custom Glass Shower Door: Using exact measurements from the completed project, Oasis had a custom door made, matching the modern Matte Black fixtures.
